Wastewater Bioaugmentation
Wastewater often has high levels of suspended solids (SS), fats, oils and greases (FOG), as well as biological oxygen demand (BOD) and chemical oxygen demand (COD). Managing these variations in effluent volume and contaminants, in order to meet local discharge standards, requires the correct treatment.Biological augmentation is the addition of bacterial cultures required to speed up the rate of degradation of a contaminant. Existing biological colonies may already be able to break down waste, but perhaps inefficiently and slowly, hence the need to augment existing bacteria. Bioaugmentation assists wastewater treatment professionals to deal with the build-up of grease and organic sludge in industrial treatment and collection system components. This significantly reduces the BOD’s (Biological Oxygen Demand) and SS which helps to avoid the costly mechanical removal and disposal of grease and sludge. Our various specific blends of natural, non-engineered bacteria have been selected for their ability to solubilize and digest grease and organic sludge.
We can assist with biological programs tailored for your site including nitrification and denitrification. If you have a problem with your odour control bio-filter needing re-seeding with the correct bacterial microbes, we can assist you to rapidly get it functioning again
